The Veterans committee is excited to host our 3rd annual donation drive from May 1-31 benefiting Operation Dignity.
What is Operation Dignity?
Operation Dignity is a nonprofit charity that provides shelter, transitional housing, and supportive services to help veterans and their families escape the crisis of homelessness and regain stability. They operate shelter and transitional housing for veterans at three properties in Oakland, Alameda, and Berkeley.
Veterans at all sites work one-on-one with
a case manager to help them create a self-sufficiency plan and secure permanent housing. The Alameda location is called Dignity Commons and is located on the former Naval Air Station.
Dignity Commons provides transitional and permanent housing to approximately 70 people, including single veterans and veteran families.
