Join your Exalted Ruler and First Lady for an evening of comedy and storytelling!

When our First Lady first brought up the idea of a Comedy Night at the Elks, it wasn’t clear how this would work. But, after talking with Lynn, doing some Googling, and reaching out to the host, Yael Schy, I am getting excited about this event, and you should be, too!

This event will be great fun for members, spouses, families, and guests! Proceeds will help raise money for our state VP, Marty Mello, and his first lady Debra.

Who is Marty Mello?

Marty’s home lodge is Woodland #1291. In 2009-2010, he and our First Lady were Association Vice Presidents (AVPs) together. By showtime on May 25, Marty will have been installed as the State President of California-Hawaii.

A Night for Sharing Stories

The evening is great for all ages and will include dessert and a no-host bar. Yael Schy will kick off the night with her unique brand of storytelling. When audience members arrive, they can choose to submit their names for a chance to tell a story (five-minute limit). Then, she will draw 10 people to get up and share their own stories or memories. We have some colorful and dynamic storytellers in the Lodge, and hearing them on stage will be a hoot. Could one of those people be you?
