Last Friday evening, we were honored to support the Friends of the Alameda Parks with a $20,000 donation to complete the construction of a performance arts and gathering space in Krusi Park (Otis & Mounds Streets). The performance space will be dedicated as a memorial to Rachel Shaninian and her daughter Annika Zinsley who were killed last summer in a head on crash. The Alameda Elks name will be permanently inscribed on the stage for all to see for decades to come.
As a Lodge, we were happy and proud to support our community to improve our Parks that give so much joy to all the residents of Alameda. We extend our thanks to the Friends of the Parks of Alameda and all of the professionals who advanced the Memorial Project. We also thank all the Elks who attended and extend a special thank you to our Elks Antlers for coming. It was a wonderful evening and hopefully the start of many wonderful evenings in the Park for the next generation of Alameda.
Please watch Exalted Ruler Shirley Bierman present our donation, surrounded by Elks and Elks Antlers below and check out a few photos from the evening.
